Education is now a liability:

Companies hiring graduates with top degrees could be discriminating against students with average grades, according to a Government-commissioned review.
Jobs that require applicants to have a minimum qualification of a 2:1 degree may prevent firms meeting diversity targets, the report said.

And this from a government that it can't afford to reduce road fuel tax:

Foreigners will qualify for free HIV treatment on the NHS after ministers agreed a change in the law.
Failed asylum seekers and foreign students are currently banned from receiving drugs for the virus in England, even though they receive free treatment for other infectious diseases.
But ministers have agreed to change the law to allow them to access the drugs for the first time...
...Anne Milton, the public health minister, said: ‘This measure will protect the public and brings HIV treatment into line with all other infectious diseases.

As they are failed asylum seekers is it too much of a brainstorm to simply deport them ?

Looks as though I will die in Canada before the UK Government decides to pay me the COL increases they vote down every Spring; unless of course I don a turban and return as a refugee ! !

I agree, deport them ASAP, not rocket science. Stuff Brussels this is the UK not Belgium.

Maybe tighten the rules on handouts so we're not so attractive to these leeches.

The BBC did a report the other night on the illegals living rough around West London. It highlighted the sheds with beds problems in the back gardens of Southall and Slough and a bridge in Heston under the M4 where many dozens sleep rough every night.
A lot of these people want to go home under the voluntary deportation scheme but as they destroyed their id documents on entry it is very difficult for them to prove who they are and as such their County of origin. One of the Southall charity workers (who delivers food to these people) mentioned the Indian High Commission are really dragging their feet and making things difficult in replacing documents.

I was pleasantly surprised the BBC carried this, as this sort of stuff in normally off limits to them!!

Here is yet another example of UK taxpayers' money being thrown away.

Millions of pounds of British aid is being used to upgrade Turkey’s sewage system, MPs have been told.
Tory MPs reacted with anger last night as details emerged of a little-known Brussels scheme to channel hundreds of millions of pounds a year of aid into countries such as Turkey that are seeking to join the European Union.
Doesn't it make you happy to know the £7 we are paying for a gallon of road fuel is all going to a good cause?
