My brother's got a Macbook pro with thousands of great pix he's taken stored on it.

I know this sounds bizarre, but as far as we can tell, while you can load things from a USB stick it is IMPOSSIBLE to save or copy ONTO a USB stick. Does anyone know any different? AND if this is indeed the case, how do they manage to sell them????

Your USB should be mounted and shown in Finder and all I have done is locate the file to copy and simply drag into USB

Indeed that's what I expected. It let me drag things FROM USB but not TO USB. Did sone Googling and found loads of people saying you can't write to USBs from Macs so gave up trying. Just weird..... but you can do it?

I've downloaded music from my iTunes library onto a USB stick, I see no reason why you can't do the same with pictures.

Have you tried?

I've just tried it Jon and it works ok. Just need to identify the pics you want downloaded and then drag them to the USB - the same as I do with music tracks.

Yes, that's what should happen... it's a long time ago now of course, but my brother's Mac just would not allow it.
