I've just listened on headphones and the sound is so clear .. amazing when it is being played so far away in S.Africa. :-)

Recently I have met 4 different people from S.Africa and they were all interested in the recordings. This has been really nice and has somehow given me the incentive to start listening and thinking about music days again. I am pleased it has been enjoyed on here as well.

I listened first without phones and then half way through with phones for the comaprison. It's a beatiful piece, and I wonder how it would sound with Mantovani type strings.

Thankyou, Davrob. I am pleased you appreciate this piece. Are you meaning Mantovani style strings for the melody instead of the guitar? If so, that could be quite interesting as I have never thought of it being a predominantly orchestral arrangement.

Yes, it was the guitar part that I'm imagining being played on massed strings, although I suppose a similar effect can now be achieved electronically.

I have tried it on my keyboard with high strings to try to achieve something like the Mantovani style and it does sound very pleasant. It is quite a time since I played it and so was quite a novelty, especially recapturing the music of Alpine Melody. Thankyou for the idea!

Thanks, Jon :-)

It is me trying out the sound of pipes or flute which I didn't think worked on the high notes and was too shrill. I liked playing it on the piano really. It is one of those pieces I tended to forget about although I think I have the manuscript somewhere, so I must have believed in it at the time I wrote it. The name in my mind was Carolyn, but decided on Annabelle instead.

Thankyou for listening to it and I hope I may find another version or even re-record it. Not a lot of point these days, though, when this sort of music is sadly not that popular.
