Funny how , everthing this government want to do costs us all money
how about just enforcing the existing laws , to control drunks
if you are out , or coming out of a pub etc , not sober , nick them , fine them , ban them from drinking for a month or two , but that will not make money!!
and if the drinking problem, abates , will they take the extra tax off ??

and what about , a small village in the middle know where
they prob have no drink related problems , but they still pay extra
just punish the drunks
I dont go to pubs a lot , but at night , there are loads of people who have had too much drink
or stand outside a club to give someone a lift home , loads of them , shouting wobbleing about , slurring speech

They are arguing this tax is to stop the anti social behaviour exhibited by drunken louts in our town centres on weekend nights. We have all seen the TV pictures of this deplorable behaviour and clearly something needs to be done.
Is a tax which will impact everyone the correct way to go though?

Would it not be better to give the police a free hand in sorting this out in much the same way as they would have done so 40 years ago?

This pricing policy has NOTHING to do with reducing irresponsible alcohol consumption, or preventing drunken disorder on the streets.

Local authorities and the police already have all the powers they need to deal with the problems of public drunkenness. It is the WILL to enforce existing laws that is lacking.

This latest policy has everything to with raising more revenue and increasing the power of the State. I suspect the police and local authorities have purposely held back on law enforcement in this area of public drunkenness as part of the Common Purpose to increase the power of the State. First create the problem – then announce the solution. It is a classic application of the paradigm shift technique for social engineering.

That's right.

It's the same with everything that Government gets involved with. The economic mess being the big one; successive Governments behave irresponsibly with our money and succeed in bringing the economy crashing down; now they are blaming every worker, motorist, home-owner and pensioner for behaving irresponsibly over the years – and the answer as always, is more taxation and increased powers of the State.

The real answer to the economic mess is to drastically reduce Government spending, and the obvious area to look at to reduce spending by £billions is to exit the EU. But like refusing to allow the police and local authorities to exercise the power they already have to deal with public drunkenness, the Government refuses to even discuss with the public the sums of money it sends to Brussels every month.

Who created the pensions crisis, was it the pensioners? No it wasn't. Successive Governments REFUSED to create a proper pension fund to provide for future needs. Instead Governments simply took our pension contributions and spent the money as they thought fit and funded pensions out of general taxation; now the answer is even more taxation and greater State powers over our lives.

Who is adding to the problems of a politically engineered very sick economy by loading up even more taxation on road fuels – answer, the same political elite responsible for all the other problems. At some point the solution will be even more State power.

Who refuses to properly fund the road infrastructure, and thereby create intolerable road congestion, massive transport delays, and ever-rising costs to moving people and goods around the country? Is it the shortage of motoring taxes? No! It is the policy of successive Governments to tax motoring until the pips squeak and allow the transport system to collapse. The answer is now “privatised roads” that will only be affordable by the elite; and that will mean more foreign ownership of the UK. The globalists win again.

And we continue to vote these people into power. Even turkeys have more sense than to vote for Christmas.

Which is exactly how the precedence gets entrenched that the government can interfere in the private affairs of citizens just so long as they justify it in puritanical terms.

First they came for the smokers, even in their private clubs where all consented to inhale smoke - but I said nothing for I was not a smoker. Then they came for the hobos drinkie-poohs - but I said nothing for I was not a smelly hobo. This time next year you will be needing a chit from the council to buy a fattening takeaway.....

Here is the latest example to the whole process:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politic ... aims..html

A problem is created: Political sleaze in the form of cash for policy. Now politicians are again saying that the answer to the problem is State-funding, that is taxpayer funding for political parties. The problem with that is, NONE of the big three represent the electorate, and yet they want us to pay for our own subjugation.

Under no circumstances what so ever. Political parties come and go in and out of favour. 100 years ago the Liberal Party (not to be confused with the mob we have today) were the party in ascendancy, 100 years from now it will be an organisation we know nothing about as yet. This is how it has been and how it must remain.

If these cretins achieve state funding they will snuff out at a stroke any radical ideas which challenges their position, we will then always be tethered to the system which doesn't work.
