And how those in power assist huge corporations in avoiding tax. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2125790/Amazon-investigation-UK-tax-authorities.html Quote: The internet giant Amazon is being investigated amid fears it is not paying its full taxes in Britain. Amazon.co.uk, the British division of the firm, is under scrutiny by UK tax authorities for its affairs over a six-year period, beginning in 2004. The admission by its American parent Amazon.com is a major embarrassment for a company that has come to dominate many Britons’ spending habits since it was launched in 1998. Quote: Giant American internet companies such as Amazon and Google have made huge inroads into the UK, claiming to be forces for good that give customers access to music, books and information more easily and cheaply. The truth is rather less wholesome. Just like the American robber barons of the Edwardian era – Carnegie, Rockefeller and Vanderbilt – they have embarked on a land-grab; not for steel, oil or real estate, but for intellectual and cultural property. They are ruthless would-be monopolists – and avoidance of tax is part and parcel of the plunder. Today’s revelation that the UK tax authorities are investigating Amazon is bad enough, but the situation at Google is arguably even more egregious as it has its hooks deep into the highest echelons of the Government. David Cameron’s former adviser Steve Hilton is married to Rachel Whetstone, a former head of communications at Google, who was also godmother to the Prime Minister’s late son Ivan. And only a few days ago, Chancellor George Osborne was hobnobbing with Google bigwigs at the opening of the ‘Google Campus’ in east London, a new centre meant to serve as a hub for fledgling high-tech firms, giving it the glow of his official approval. For all his talk of a clampdown on ‘morally repugnant’ tax avoidance, Mr Osborne is behaving like an impotent bystander as Amazon and Google trample over the crumbling British high street and raze our creative industries to the ground. Only the best advice gets you out of paying tax. How more 'Conflicts of Interest' is Cameron going to have regarding his friends and so called god parents. |

You have got to hand it to Cameron, his PR must be faultless, it don't stand up to scrutiny though! so the party has a whole must be pretty dumb or desperate. and whatever way you cut it, he just cant be the best on offer, if he is, then there is nothing to stop a take over from Socialism, Communism 0r Liberalism, that this is not a consideration as it stands just a watered down version of socialism without the commitment, or doorstep appeal, I think the problem lays with the people! they just don't want to be Governed, and the only purpose of the Government is to be the whipping horse for just about every thing that go's wrong, that brings me back to the running of the Country should be in the hands of a benign dictator with a board of successful business people with a proven track record. who would consider all the options and collectivly decide, and if they cant, then only then! a referrendom on that particular issue. I am sure Europe would soon follow suit. |

From the DM link provided by Geezer466: Quote: Amazon.co.uk’s latest accounts reveal that it did not pay a single penny of British corporation tax in either 2010 or 2011. How can that be? How come HMRC weren't crawling all over an organisation that isn't paying ANY tax? Of Course Geezer466 is right; this is the globalist process at work. For the ordinary taxpayer the situation is vastly different. I only have income from my pensions, and what measly interest I can get on my savings. HMRC automatically assume that I am receiving 10% interest on my savings and every year issue a tax code according to that false assumption. Every year it is down to me to prove that I am not getting anything like 10% interest on my savings before HMRC will grant me a correct tax code. To make matters worse; any actual interest on savings is a small fraction of the true rate of inflation, but HMRC still take 20% of that grossly inappropriate return on savings. Osborne throws around such phrases as; “We are all in this together”, and “morally repugnant”. It is clear for all to see that we are not all in this mess together. And the true moral repugnance is felt by the electorate towards the disgusting globalist political elite. |

Google very recently introduced a new privacy policy. It was suggested in some circles by some very influential and learned people that this policy was 'probably' in breach of the data protection act, in the way which google collects and stores data making it available to all arms of their organisation. What's the betting that it is in fact in breach of the act and that nothing gets done about it! It's not what you know it's who you know!! |

No wonder Google are so keen on spying on everyone! The lines between Big Government and Big Business really have become very blurred. |
