Early 2014 Christmas came and went Too much money spent Xmas puds and Xmas cake Serves me right, got stomach ache New Year meant goodbyes To 2013, how time flies 2014, 2 months passed But Spring is coming, hope at last But rain and wind, floods and storms The landscape changed into different forms Fields were lakes, lakes were the sea Livestock marooned, life was misery Wildlife suffered, birds flew away People strived to help each day Sandbags were filled, families rescued in boats Saving children and pets, horses and goats Royalty visited, politicians talked Wellingtons worn as in deep water they walked So what happens now, this can't happen again Perhaps someone could build a huge, giant drain?
