I joined the by-pass at the Tesco Yeading roundabout this morning and stuck to 50mph. No-one overtook/undertook me, no speeding multiple lane changing idiots and it was a very pleasant experience. When I got to the 40mph section everyone slowed down and held their lanes correctly. No jostling for position going under the M4. Wonder if the Plod BMW I was following had any influence? |

I don't understand the usual 'racers'. Especially as they are more than likely going to work = what's the rush ? I usually have a play and if I see one zooming up the inside lane, and the conditions are right, I speed up a little so they end up behind the inside lane slower moving vehicle. Under these circumstances the ones behind usually bunch up and prevent these idiots pulling out It's been quite a while now since anything comical happened. The last one was on the M4, westbound. I tend to stick at 60mph going to work as it's very fuel efficient and relaxing. I was sat in the inside lane in a sort of convoy doing 60 and Mr Mondeo must have thought I was about to peel off down the Heathrow spur. I assume his intention was to do the same but whilst I take the sliproad inside lane he would take the outside lane and speed down to the roundabout - - - wrong, I am going straight on to the M25. he had nowhere to go and couldn't brake as he had a few quite close behind him so I took him down to the M25 as well |

... or me I've been doing the same journey for about 15 years now and it helps to know your 'road'. There are a few pinch points where I scan the mirrors repeatedly for these muppets. When I approach the Yeading roundabout, Northbound, where I turn right towards Tesco and I'm in the correct outside lane, I'm always on the lookout for those who think they can turn right from the centre lane. I reckon I've got a 99% success rate in keeping them on the inside, just behind, so they have to brake and pull in behind or drive up the kerb. I reckon at least once a week. |
