How very odd!!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2089474/Couple-brought-child-Sasha-gender-neutral-reveal-sex-The-Infant.html

Quote:
A couple who concealed the sex of their child and raised it as ‘gender neutral’ for five years have finally revealed - it’s a boy.
Beck Laxton, 46, and partner Kieran Cooper, 44, decided not to reveal Sasha’s gender in the hope it would let his ‘real’ personality shine through.
They referred to him as 'the infant' and allowed him to play only with ‘gender-neutral toys’ in their television-free home.

The poor little sod will be probably be confused his whole life....

"Sasha wears a blouse with ruched-sleeves and a scalloped collar to school from the girls' uniform list, and has been banned from sporting combat trousers."

i can understand not force feeding children things in life but thats set up for a seriously confused child and probably adult. and worse of all bullying and p*** taking from other children

I've heard feminists on the radio before who've tried everything to avoid what they perceive as "stereotyping" of their sons, no boys toys to play with etc etc.... They gave up when they realised that absolutely anything available became a pretend gun.

Not all kids are the same of course, but the vast majority will revert to type regardless of what the parents try to do - likewise, the ones that are different will stay different regardless. Countless dads who wanted their sons to be football stars, but whose sons wanted to be something else, will testify to that.

I actually find this story quite disturbing. I fail to see how having your child ( sorry, 'The Infant' ) dressing in clothes from the girls uniform list, fairy wings and pink tutu and ballet pumps is in any way being 'Gender-Neutral' . Quite the opposite surely ? Even more-so when the parents are now telling the wider world that Sasha is a boy.

" They are keen to highlight the issue publicly and get other parents talking about it ". What issue ? The only issue here seems to be their own very odd outlook on gender and they are using, yes using, their own innocent child to that end. Just so other parents can talk about it ? That really is quite sick.

Worst of all in my mind though is them referring to Sasha as simply ' The Infant'. How cold and callous is that ? There's not even a hint of love or affection in that phrase. I see no connection whatsoever with a human being they gave life to, just an object, and ' something' to be talked about.

Totally agree Moley. And as you say, how is it gender neutral when girly clothes were OK, but combat trousers were banned?? Poor kid. And I'm sure when he's, say, 10, he's just going to love his parents for those massive pix of him in a pink tutu in the national papers (it was even bigger in The Sun than in the Mail.)

There is certainly a case for an investigation by social services here.....

Could this be viewed as child cruelty? Certainly forcing a young boy or girl to dress in opposite gender clothes has been in the past!!

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2090193/NHS-pays-children-controversial-puberty-delaying-drugs-aid-sex-changes-later-life.html

Quote:
Six children in Britain will be given jabs to delay the puberty on the NHS because they are convinced they were born the wrong sex.

The injections - to be administered monthly - will postpone the physical changes of adolescence giving them more time to make decisions about their identity.

It will also make any sex-change operation far easier should they decide to permanently swap gender.

Co-Incidence? the two stories appearing in the mail within a couple of days of each other?

Far be it from me to suggest the paper has an agenda but this sort of stuff does it no good.

Sometimes the Mails way or reporting is its worst own enemy............??
