Mr MacShane faced a 12-month suspension from the Commons over the affair, but resigned on Friday, triggering a by-election, after it was revealed he had wrongfully claimed £7,500 in expenses.

Quote:
Former BBC journalist Mr MacShane, who had been MP for Rotherham since 1994, said the British National Party had run a "three-year campaign to destroy my political career,"

Hello.........You destroyed your own career Mr McShane for downright common as garden theft.... Why are you not already in jail?

The audacity of these plebs sometimes astounds me. This cretin almost makes it sound like he was doing the public a favour by stealing from them!!

Anyone else other than a member of the establishment and they would already be inside!!

OK so lets see . .

Denis MacShane (Ex Lab): Cleared by a Parliamentary committee even though they accept he falsely submitted expenses on 19 different occasions that were "plainly intended to deceive"

I bet these guys might be fuming a bit:

Jim Devine (Ex Lab): Jailed in 2011 for 16 months for fiddling £8,385 between 2008 and 2009

Eric Illsley (Ex Lab): Jailed in 2011 for 12 months for £14,000 of false expenses between 2005 and 2008

David Chaytor (Ex Lab): Jailed in 2011 for 18 months for fraudulently claiming more than £20,000 in expenses

Lord Taylor of Warwick (Con Peer): jailed in 2011 for 12 months for falsely claiming £11,277 in parliamentary expenses

Elliot Morley (Ex Lab): Jailed in 2011 for 16 months for fiddling £30,000 of expenses

But let's not forget . .

Margaret Moran (Ex Lab): Strangely not stood trial this year for allegedly fiddling £80,000 of Parliamentary expenses because she's too ill

Baroness Warsi (Ex Nothing): Strangely cleared by the Lord Commissioner for Standards for claiming overnight expenses while living rent free

Sadiq Khan (Lab): Allowed to return Parliamentary expenses (£2.55k) and accepted that he shouldn't have claimed for and apologised. No further action was taken

How inconsistent!!

I was bought up knowing this farce of democracy, was you vote for one set of crooks, or you can vote for another set of crooks, its pull up the ladder, im'e in, and never the twain will meet.

635 Employees
Unbelievable but true.
Thought you might find this interesting ......

I bet this will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

Can you imagine working for a company that only has a little more than 635 employees, but has the following Employee Statistics.
29 have been accused of spouse abuse,
7 have been arrested for fraud,
9 have been accused of writing bad cheques,
17 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses,
3 have done time for assault,
71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit,
14 have been arrested on drug-related charges,
8 have been arrested for shoplifting,
21 are currently defendants in lawsuits,
84 have been arrested for drink driving in the last year,

And collectively, this year alone, they have cost the British tax payer £92,993,748 in expenses!
Which organisation is this?

It's the 635 members of the House of Commons.
The same group that cranks out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line. Dont do as I do! do as I say! Democracy English style. ;) :(

What a bunch of crooks we have running our country - it says it all...
And just to top all that they probably have the best 'corporate' pension scheme in the country - whilst trying to ensure that everyone else has the worst possible!
